The project involved the total redesign of an existing structure on a seafront property in order to meet the functional and aesthetical standards of new owners.
The unfinished shell was completed with minimal details and additional structures were incorporated to achieve a contemporary form and extend living areas outside. All interior spaces were redesigned as to accommodate open-plan common areas and to equip private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and adequate storage. Wide openings integrated throughout the house offer views towards the sea and further emphasize this feeling of openess.
Materiality, including stone, plaster, steel and wood, accentuates the minimal design. Clean lines of the main volume and the steel pergolas are softened when combined with masonry walls and wooden details.
